Specializations in the area of WKO, aquathermie, geothermie, urban heating and HTO.

Sustainability is key in the utility sector. Homes, offices, and commercial spaces are increasingly being heated and cooled using technologies such as geothermal energy, aquathermy, and high-temperature heating.
Filtration plays a crucial role in making systems more sustainable and extending their lifespan, using water. By using BÈTA Industrie’s filtration solutions, you are guaranteed a compact design with minimal space requirements and minimal maintenance.
Sustainable filtration is an integral part of our approach. At BÈTA Industrie, our filtration specialists focus specifically on green technologies like thermal energy storage (WKO) and geothermal energy. Years of experience in projects in the Netherlands and Belgium have made us the market leader in sustainable filtration. Want to know more? WKO systems store hot and cold water in the ground to heat and cool buildings. In winter, groundwater is used for heating and cold water is stored. In summer, the cold water is used for cooling, and the hot water is stored. This makes WKO the standard for larger new construction projects.
BÈTA Industrie supplies filter systems that continuously filter the water during these changes, even at high flows of up to 500 m³ per hour. The filter prevents the water from contaminating the other source. The BETA WKO filter also protects the source filters and prevents contamination of other equipment, guaranteeing optimal operation and minimal maintenance.

Aquathermics is increasingly being used to cool or heat buildings using surface water. Consider, for example, the water from the Meuse River, which is used to cool and heat various buildings in Rotterdam.
Protect the system with the right filtration. Good filtration prevents contamination of heat exchangers, pumps, and pipes and extends the system’s lifespan. Depending on the type of water used, we recommend a suitable filtration process, such as a Bernoulli filter or high flow filter candles with a compact filter housing. Make a no-obligation appointment with our specialists for personal advice.

HTO is similar to WKO (Heat Cold Storage), but for high temperatures from 29 to 90 degrees Celsius. Currently, extensive research is being conducted to determine the optimal form of HTO. However, as with WKO, the system must be properly protected and the water filtered.
We supply HTO filters that are suitable for higher temperatures and have a high dirt retention capacity. Our specialists are happy to create a custom design for tailored filtration advice.
Geothermal energy offers a sustainable and environmentally friendly way to generate energy by harnessing the earth’s natural heat. Extracting this energy requires reliable filtration to ensure optimal performance and a long lifespan of the systems.
Are there any custom-made filters for a thermal energy storage system?
Yes, there are custom-made filtration solutions for thermal energy storage systems. These filters often have to fit in a small space and be easily accessible when they need to be changed. BÈTA industrie considers all preferences and specifications for the best possible solution.
How many ground source heat projects are there in the Netherlands?
There are various geothermal energy projects ongoing in the Netherlands, with a focus on both developing new projects and scaling up existing ones. Today, there are several geothermal heating systems up and running, especially in regions such as Haarlemmermeer and the southwestern part of the Netherlands. Aside from that, there are various projects that are in the research and development phase.
Why does a filter need to be installed at a thermal energy storage well?
With a thermal energy storage system, the hot well and the cold well are interlinked. As soon as it is switched from hot to cold or vice versa, fouling must be prevented to ensure that both wells are preserved and can continue to be used safely and for a long time. Preventing fouling is precisely what a filter does.
What is geothermal heat?
Geothermal heat is the heat that comes from within the Earth. You can use it to generate electricity or heat buildings and homes. It offers a sustainable way to generate energy, because the Earth always has this heat available.

What is ground source heat?
Heat from the ground can be used for various purposes, such as to heat buildings, generate electricity, and in some cases to heat water in homes and greenhouses. It is a renewable energy source because it is permanently available and comes with fewer harmful emissions.
